From my early days as a licensed pest control technician, to the multiple roles I held in multiple companies within emergency medical services in the northeastern tri-state region, and presently as a laser surgical technician for a medical device company. I have always searched for good role models and mentors to learn from while on the road. My first immediate role models I will always give credit too will be my late father, some of my bosses / supervisors and my close circle of friends. Despite my hardheadedness at times I always considered myself a “student of the game” in this game we call life. Learning from these individuals has always and will always be an honor.
With the above being said - I’ve also had a few role models in my ear while driving throughout the boroughs of NYC, Upstate NY, NJ, CT, PA, MA and other northeastern states. Jocko Willink was one of the original podcasters I found myself learning from day in and day out. Alongside the GOAT Echo Charles and many guests I found myself revisiting wars and battles such as the “Battle of Little Bighorn” to the American Civil War and also the most recent wars of the last 100 years. I have also learned how to hone in on my leadership qualities and capabilities by the way he explains extreme ownership, decentralized leadership, management and governance both within his career in the US Navy Seals and now as a leader of multiple companies such as Echelon Front, Origin, JockoFuel, Jocko Publishing, WarriorKid, and a few others.
There is one thing I still lack despite my improved eating habits since I moved to my new Florida apartment last year - Jogging, trail and mountain climbing with a rucksack.
