ChatGPT and The Science Of Human Guidance

ChatGPT and The Science Of Human Guidance

Recently I was watching #357 - Lex Friedman and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. Early in the interview I heard Mr. Altman say “the science of human guidance” and something in my mind immediately clicked.  I asked Brave’s search engine for results on this topic but was referred to multiple articles / essays behind a paywall. Still not wanting to accept defeat I immediately went to Chat(ChatGPT) and seeked some help there. We started with our afternoon greetings followed by a casual question. “Can you tell me about the science of human guidance?”

In less then two seconds Chat generated a response around the words “human guidance,” but left out the words “the science off,” Chat advised me that it had nothing to say in regards to human guidance as a form of a science. I bolded in black parts of Chats answer that I find important to highlight and be mindful of as your begin your journey with Chat or any other neural-network based chatbot AI services.

Below was Chats response to my question about the “science of human guidance”:

Chat: “I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "science of human guidance," but I can provide some information about guidance in general.

Guidance is the process of providing advice, direction, or support to someone in order to help them achieve a specific goal or improve their performance in a particular area. This can take many forms, including mentorship, coaching, counseling, or training.

There are many factors that can influence the effectiveness of guidance, such as the expertise and experience of the guide, the motivation and receptiveness of the person being guided, the clarity of the goals and expectations, and the quality of the communication and feedback.

In recent years, there has been growing interest in the science of coaching and mentorship, which involves studying the psychological, social, and cognitive factors that contribute to effective guidance. This research has identified various strategies and techniques that can be used to enhance the effectiveness of guidance, such as active listening, empathy, goal setting, self-reflection, and behavioral modeling.

Overall, guidance can be a powerful tool for personal and professional development, and the science of guidance can provide valuable insights into how to optimize the process for maximum benefit.”

After being caught by surprise with such an awesome answer I asked Chat a follow-up question in order to clear some confusion / lack of understanding on my part: “Chat, what do you mean by behavioral modeling?” Below was Chat’s response:

Chat: “Behavioral modeling is a technique that involves observing and replicating the behaviors of successful individuals or role models in order to learn and improve one's own performance. This technique is often used in coaching and mentorship, as well as in fields such as psychology, education, and business.

The idea behind behavioral modeling is that by studying the specific behaviors, habits, and attitudes of successful individuals, we can gain insights into what makes them effective and apply those lessons to our own lives. For example, a business coach might encourage a client to study the behaviors of successful entrepreneurs in order to learn from their strategies for managing time, networking, and decision-making.

Behavioral modeling typically involves several steps. First, the individual being coached or mentored is encouraged to identify a role model or mentor whose behaviors they admire and wish to emulate. Next, they observe and analyze the specific behaviors and habits of the role model in order to understand how they achieve success. Finally, they attempt to replicate those behaviors in their own life and work, and receive feedback and support from their coach or mentor to refine their approach.

Overall, behavioral modeling can be a powerful technique for personal and professional development, as it allows individuals to learn from the successes of others and apply those lessons to their own lives in a practical and tangible way.”

As an individual who constantly needs to find redundancies on top of redundancies in order to protect my best interests, I’ve always seeked guidance and mentorship from great men and women both in my circle and out on the internet. All this was always done subconsciously. I never knew there was a developing science behind this specific action.

ChatGPT is the first of many to come in just a matter of time. These new forms of technology have various uses for the betterment of mental health here in the USA and in the rest of the world. Naturally people will attempt to use it with malicious intent, but if the rest of the population begins to use it as a TOOL you will have a chance to have checks and balances created around Chat. It is our responsibility as a collective to tune this technology right for the multiple generations coming after us, many who will be looking up at the stars while some continue to make this world a better home. They need to research, develop, imagine, communicate in peace - without a boot over their neck.

Wishing you all a peaceful and productive week ahead.

Love you All,

This a great point of view and great question to ask. This is something that many people lack to understand. Science at the end of the day is a system of beliefs. What is a system of belief? Maybe that is the question you need to ask this system.

The system can’t give you an answer because humans are made of a various systems of beliefs. There’s no right answer to how we operate. Every human is design in a specific way, with specific responsibilities and understanding of the universe. The guidance comes for different parts of the universe.

This why is important to travel. Visit places that scare you and visit place that make you feel extremely welcome. This is call balance. Two of the strongest forms of energy that exist in our universe are opposites.

Black holes and stars. But if you sit down and study them, you end up finding out that they are opposites in their understanding.

My point is that every human serves a purpose and if you constantly seek for guidance, you will never find yourself. You will just be another drone in the earth(terra).
